About the program
Fishing teaches more than what happens at the end of a line. It builds patience, confidence, teamwork, and a reason to get outside together. A student who joins a fishing team gains people to learn from, challenges to work through, and a place to belong.
The Sixgill Fishing School Team Program is here to help schools bring more students onto the water. Schools and teams can sign up for a team account, and students can join under their school’s team. Whether you’re building a program from the ground up or helping an established team grow, we’d love to hear from you.
Help outfit the whole team
Getting a team on the water takes gear, and the cost can add up quickly. We offer deep discounts for students, schools, and teams to help outfit their anglers. Our goal is to make it easier for teams to get the equipment they need and spend more time fishing together.
We also know that even with a discount, gear can be out of reach for some families. We’re willing to consider the circumstances of students facing financial hardship. If someone on your team needs additional help, tell us. We understand - and are talk through what may be possible. No student’s enthusiasm should be overlooked because they’re new to the sport or their family has a limited budget.
One school. One team account. More anglers involved.
A team account gives your school a way to bring its student anglers together under one team. Students can sign up under that account and be part of the program alongside their teammates.
It also gives new teams a place to start. You don’t need a long history, a full roster, or a shelf of trophies to reach out. If your school has students who want to fish and people ready to help them get started, we encourage you to sign up.
Why school fishing matters
For some students, fishing is a chance to compete. For others, it’s their first reason to try something new outdoors. A good team has room for both.
Experienced anglers can share what they know. Beginners can ask questions, build skills, and discover their own confidence. Teammates learn to prepare together, solve problems, celebrate each other’s progress, and keep going when the fish aren’t biting.
Those experiences can stay with a student long after a season ends. We want to help more schools make them possible.
Be part of a growing community
Your team can connect with a wider community of people who care about fishing. Share team moments, learn from other anglers, follow conversations about new Sixgill products, and take part in live sessions and opportunities to collaborate as the program grows.
Every school and every angler brings a different perspective. We want student teams to have a place in that conversation.

What Your team can be part of
Tell us what your team needs
When you sign up, tell us about your school, your anglers, and what you’re working toward. Are you starting a team? Growing your roster? Trying to outfit students for their first season? Let us know where you are and where you hope to go.
If cost is preventing a student from participating, share that with us too. We’ll consider your team’s circumstances and discuss the options available.
Let’s get more students on the water
The best way to grow fishing is to give the next generation a chance to take part. Bring us your team, your questions, and your plans. We’re ready to hear your story and help you take the next step.
