The Cypress series includes the same length and flex range as our Myakka lineup. It utilizes conventional style Fuji guides rather than American Tackle Microwave guides featured on our Myakka series. The same attention to detail has gone in to the Cypress. From the premium cork split grips to the exceptional blank performance. The Cypress series is a solid choice for both casting and spinning situations, and should be a welcome addition to any angler’s arsenal.

    Cypress Spinning

Published by Mike on 8th Nov 2018

High quality feel in the hand, action seems true and even the 7’ ML I ordered has no issues with large saugeye and walleye. My only reason for a 3 star rating is the length of the handle. It’s just too long to comfortably fish. Especially in a ML application. Some may like this, but for me personally it’s the difference in being my go to, and sitting at home in the rack.

    Great spinning rod!

I use this rod for mainly light tackle. I have it set as my ned rig set up! Great sensitivity when catching those stubborn bass.

    Excellent Rod

Published by Ryan Adams on 17th May 2018

The balance between sensitivity and power in this rod was exactly what I wanted. I use the 7'2" Medium Light for finesse applications, mostly dropshot. Some dropshot rods I have used have been too sensitive without enough power and others have had good power, but lacked a little sensitivity.

    Love my Cypress spinning rod

Published by Matt Clark on 22nd Apr 2018

I have used primarily St Croix rods. I read the reviews on Six Gill and had to see if the buzz was for real. I purchased the Cypress 7ft medium spinning rod. This is one of the lightest well balanced rods I have ever used. I will be buying more from Six Gill I suggest you do the same.

    Lightweight and very sensitive.

Published by Steve Mattison on 11th Mar 2018

I was using a 1/16th.oz. jighead with plastic grub in 12 to 18 feet of water for crappie. I felt every branch, rock, gravel bed and tic from blluegill, crappie or white bass that touched it. It is going to take me awhile to not set the hook unneccesarily as I now do. Once I get used to these new feelings the fish will be in greater danger than ever before.
