It will be fine if you are fishing for channel cat. 5 The Erebus is a TANK! Posted by Bobby Mack on 6th Sep 2022 I've been fishing with three of these rods for almost three years now, I figured it was safe to finally leave a review. I love these rods. I have two 6'6" casting, and one 7'6" spinning. They've handled blues and flatheads up to 35 lbs, as well as big bull drum in saltwater. Superior backbone, and I love the oversized guides, which were installed RIGHT on the money along the spine. I plan on buying two of the 9' casting rods soon, and I can't wait to try them out. Great product, you won't be disappointed. 4 Erebus Series Casting Rod for catfishing Posted by William Higgs on 28th Oct 2021 Rods have good action for channel cats and small to med blue cats! I don’t really know how well they would do with 50lb or larger fish! I will also use these for striper trolling! One of the two rods I received had a missing the ceramic piece in one of the guides! Didn’t think it was worth the bother sending it back as rod has lots of guides! I would have liked heavier guides on rods! Time will tell how they last! Paring with a AB 6500 I could cast for distance without any problem! BOGO was only way I would have tried these rods! If they would improve guides I would purchase again! Rods were 7’6”. 5 EREBUS SERIES CASTING ROD Posted by Francisco on 5th Aug 2021 love this rod. I got the medium heavy, which is a little heavy for the stocked lake fishing here in SoCal, but this doubles as a surf rod for fishing off the jetti. 5 Solid yet sensitive Posted by Christopher Runyon on 5th Aug 2021 I purchased 2 of the 6’6” versions to upgrade my cat fishing poles slightly. I’ve stuck with one type prior to this and would never consider switching to anything else….then I held one of these and before casting I knew this would be my new rod of choice. After 2 months of hard use now I’m very satisfied with my choices. I walk miles with them strapped to my pack while wading out local rivers and these have her up better than expected Next Next
