Overview Warranty Product Videos Reviews Product Description The Hamarr casting reel is what happens when performance meets simplicity. Two custom Neodymium magnets and a specialized spindle where it meets the pinion gear create a form of dual-braking system that effectively controls both stages of your cast. The large control surface on the side of the spool allows for a greater induced magnetic field. The result is minimized backlashes with maximized casting distance. The aluminum reel body adds solidity when you need to hammer a strong hook set, while the almost twenty pounds of drag will help you wrench monster bass out of thick cover. Add to that the oversized cranking handle and fish don't stand a chance, no matter what technique you choose to use. The Hamarr casting reel is the next generation of stunning SixGill fishing performance. It takes some work to backlash it. It’s super light and casts long distances. I hope to add more to my collection in the future. 5 Very nice light and easy to use real Posted by Earl Griffin on 16th Feb 2022 Very nice light and easy to use real 5 Awsome reel for an affordable price Posted by Elvis Carter on 14th Feb 2022 Sixgill reels are all quality reels for an affordable price an they stan behind their product never had a problem with any product that they didnt make right an the correction is always immediately Im a tournament fisherman an have found their rods an reels are tournament grade customer service is just as great think u gus should have more stores world wide no one sales quality rod sn reel even on sale two fir the price of one. 5 Hamarr baitcaster Posted by Dan witt on 13th Feb 2022 Haven’t had a chance to use it my pond is froze but it Feels smooth and easy I’m going to love it 2 hamarr baitcasting reels Posted by tanner morton on 3rd Feb 2022 i have other products from you guys, i have a couple rods i really like an have used some spinnimh reels that are pretty good reels. however the baitcasters i got in the last order really are not all that great. i have greased an oiled every moving part that should be greased or oiled. still the reel has loud retreves an even some vibration comes off of one. i was going to send them back but they where bought for rods that are critical to my next event so i figured i would push threw with them an hopefully as they get broke in they quit. i like the profile of them an weight. i think as far as looks go your on point. i dont know maybe i just got unlucky with my order 5 Overall Posted by Steven Cortina on 1st Feb 2022 Stellar! Long casts. Whistles while your lure flys. Love it. Muscled a 6lb striped bass in with ease, the bass was only able to turn and make short runs. Easily neted. Will buy more soon! 4 Hamarr Casting Reel Review Posted by Lee on 30th Jan 2022 I've waited well over a year to leave this review because I believe that's how long it takes to put a reel at this price point thru all of the rigors required to give a true, honest review which is what these professionals at Sixgill deserve and what potential customers deserve as well. So on to the review! Out of the box this reel was a little difficult to dial in only because the tension knob works a little different than your typical abu, shimano, lews, etc. Once I figured out that you basically turn the tension knob all the way tight and turn the brakes all the way to + I was good to go! The adjustments you make from that point forward are VERY minor tension knob adjustments when changing lure weights. Any major change can result in bird nest city so always remember that less is more when it comes to this reel! The same thing applies to casting effort/strength. Once you dial this reel in properly you won't have to try to cast it a mile to cast it a mile! Just remember, less is more till you hit the sweet spot. You'll know when you hit it because the casts become effortless. As far as casting distance goes if I had to compare this reel to another reel on the market it would be the Shimano Curado. I use both on the SG Aklyos 7'2" M. I also use an SLX DC on the same rod..As anyone who has ever used a DC reel knows, that braking system is on another level that no other company is able to match at this time. That being said, I can outcast the curado and the slx dc on a calm day with my Hamarr! The drag on my Hamarr is far superior to the curado k and the slx dc! They deliver 11-12lbs while the hammer gives you a full 17lbs! I primarily fish with 10-12 lb florocarbon on a clear highland reservoir while occasionally pond hopping or taking a road trip to lake guntersville or the little warrior river. Ive put that drag to the test when hooking into a 26lb striper on 10 lb floro while I was swimming a jig in 20 ft of water on lake martin! I wouldn't of landed that bad boy had it not been for the drag on my Hamarr handling flawlessly!!! On to the next aspect, customer service. As anyone who has ever dealt with Sixgill can attest, their customer service is second to NONE!!! I mean that literally!!!! I've had an issue with a grip on one of my SG rods and they sent me a new rod, didn't even want the old one back. I had a problem with one of my reels becoming a little hard to retrieve. Sent it in, they cleaned it up, fixed it up and sent it back in less than a week! You will NOT find a company than stands behind their product like Sixgill does!!! Especially these days when big companies have no problem taking your money but come up with every excuse imaginable when it comes to them fixing their mistakes or defects. Not Sixgill! That's why I took the time out of my schedule to write this review. Customers deserve to know when there's a company out there that keeps their word and stands by their product! You've found that here! 5 This reel, I LOVE IT!! Posted by Brian Kuehlem on 26th Jan 2022 All I need now is the S+ 4 Hamarr reel Posted by Michael Midgett on 26th Jan 2022 Great casting reel when dialed in perfectly. Can be tricky getting it dialed in though. Previous Next Previous Next
