Here is a quick clip form our time in Arkansas with MLF Pro Fred Roumbanis. Fred found a nice fish on a bed and didn't throw the towel in until the job was done. He even caught the male first! He used his Lykan 7'6 Heavy and Hamarr 8.0:1

Return of the Scythe: Elite Sensitivity Without Sacrificing Strength
Scythe Rod Series: Elite Sensitivity Without Sacrificing Strength Every component of a premium fishing rod should serve a purpose. The blank should communicate what is happening beneath the water. The guides should manage line smoothly. The handle should remain comfortable from the first cast until the final fish of the day. That performance-first philosophy shaped the Sixgill Scythe Rod Series. Available in casting and spinning configurations, the Scythe combines advanced Japanese Toray carbon construction with premium Fuji components and AAA-grade cork. The result is one of the lightest, most sensitive and most refined rod families in the Sixgill lineup. Advanced Japanese Toray Carbon Construction The Scythe begins with a one-piece blank made from blended 36T Japanese Toray carbon and reinforced with a 40T carbon crossweave layer. This construction creates an exceptional balance of low weight, sensitivity and dependable strength. The responsive blank transfers subtle bottom contact, lure movement and light strikes while retaining the backbone needed for confident hooksets and fish control. A signature exterior carbon wrap reinforces the lower third of the rod while giving the Scythe its distinctive premium appearance. Fast, Responsive Performance Every Scythe rod features a fast-action taper designed for crisp response and efficient power transfer. The responsive tip supports accurate casting and precise presentations, while the stronger lower portion of the blank delivers the power needed to drive hooks home. This versatile action makes the Scythe effective across finesse, bottom-contact and power-fishing techniques. Fuji Components for Better Connection A sensitive blank only matters if the components allow that feedback to reach the angler. The Scythe uses a premium Fuji reel seat with direct blank access to transmit subtle pulses and strikes into your hand. Fuji Alconite micro guides provide smooth line management while helping reduce unnecessary weight along the blank. Together, these components preserve the Scythe’s balance and responsiveness from the reel seat to the tip. AAA-Grade Cork Comfort The split-grip handle uses AAA-grade cork for a comfortable and secure hold. Its lightweight design supports the rod’s overall balance while providing the familiar feel many serious anglers prefer. Whether you are working a lure slowly or making repeated casts throughout a tournament day, the grip is designed to remain comfortable and controlled. Choosing a Scythe Casting Rod The Scythe Casting Series includes seven models ranging from 7' Medium Light to 7'6" Heavy. 7' Medium Light At approximately 3.4 ounces, this model offers an exceptionally light casting platform for smaller baits, lighter line and presentations requiring added finesse. 7' and 7'2" Medium The Medium models provide versatile options for reaction baits, jerkbaits and other presentations that benefit from accurate casting and a responsive tip. Choose the 7'2" model when additional distance and line control are priorities. 7' Medium Heavy A balanced, general-purpose option for Texas rigs, jigs, spinnerbaits and a wide range of single-hook techniques. 7'3" Medium Heavy The additional length provides increased casting distance and leverage while preserving the versatility of a Medium Heavy power. 7'6" Medium Heavy Designed for longer casts, pitching and techniques where added reach improves line management and fish control. 7'6" Heavy The most powerful casting model in the series, providing the leverage and backbone required for heavier line, larger presentations and demanding cover. Choosing a Scythe Spinning Rod The Scythe Spinning Series focuses on two highly versatile models. 7' Medium Light Weighing approximately 3.65 ounces, the Medium Light is built for finesse fishing, lighter line and presentations where detecting subtle changes is essential. 7'2" Medium The 7'2" Medium adds power and casting distance while maintaining the sensitivity and responsive feel expected from a premium spinning rod. It is an excellent choice for anglers seeking one versatile spinning setup. The Scythe Rod Series was engineered around those moments. Its advanced carbon construction, premium components and technique-ready models create a lightweight platform that keeps anglers connected without giving up strength. For those who demand elite sensitivity, refined balance and dependable performance, the Scythe belongs in the lineup.
