The Saga Split Two Piece casting rod is a statement to our mission at Sixgill - Be bold and stir the pot. The blue finish, super light weight, proprietary taper will usher in a new era of fishing rods for Sixgill. With its soft tip, stout backbone, and stainless-steel guides, the Saga will find itself at home in any situation.

Please Note: The section of exposed carbon in the middle of the joint is by design. This allows for repeated assembly/disassembly without the joint becoming loose over time. Once you have snugged the sections together, you will still see exposed carbon. Were this to be painted, it would not allow for as tight of a connection, and would diminish positive engagement over time. DO NOT SAND OR CUT THIS SECTION

    Great Portable Budget Option

Published by Jerod Edwardson on 22nd Oct 2021

I carried the MH Saga Split rod with me over the summer when I couldn't carry my 1-piece rods. It's been a reliable and versatile option. I've thrown Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, ploppers, squarebills and even frogs on it with no issues whatsoever. It catches fish!

Overall, the build quality is great for the price point, especially when you hit a BOGO. The connection between the two pieces stays solid and I have had no issues with guides or any other part of the rod.

The only negative that I can really give this series is the lack of length options... and it could use a better grip option than EVA foam. However, that's just personal preference.
If you're looking for a budget friendly two-piece option, this will do the trick.

    Saga Split

I got this rod on a deal with the deluge reel. Both have performed leaps and bounds above my expectations. I keep this rod in my truck and just pop it out whenever the mood strikes me. I've thrown everything spinnerbaits to weightless worms with this setup and the rod handles it flawlessly. Incredibly light and sensitive. Would absolutely recommend as a truck rod.
